This project aimed to advance the development of its partial upgrading technologies to reduce diluent requirements for bitumen transportation. Funded through ERA’s Shovel-Ready call and announced in 2021, Suncor planned to conduct a commercial-scale demonstration of this technology. The funding relationship was ultimately cancelled in 2024.
